New Delhi: The Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) have slashed the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by around Rs 135 with immediate effect from today.

As a result, the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder will now amount to Rs 2,219 as opposed to the earlier price of Rs 2,354 per bottle in Delhi.

Meanwhile, the 19 kg commercial cylinder will now cost Rs 2,322 as against the earlier price of Rs 2,454 in Kolkata, while it will be priced at Rs 2,171.50 instead of Rs 2,306 in Mumbai and Rs 2,373 instead of Rs 2,507 in Chennai.

Notably, the rates of both domestic and commercial LPG cylinders were raised in the country on May 19 and it happened to be the the second time in a month that the prices of the cooking gas was hiked.

The rates of a14 kg domestic cylinder was increased by Rs 3.50 while that of a 19 Kg commercial LPG was hiked by Rs 8 per cylinder.

It was widely suspected that the oil marketing companies might announce a price revision in LPG prices on June 1. 

International oil prices have been on the surge this year and it has had a cascading effect on the prices of petrol, diesel, ATF and LPG and its impact has been reflected on the prices of these essential commodities of late.

There were reports which speculated that there may be an increase in the prices of LPG from June 1 considering the rise in international oil prices but nothing official has been confirmed so far.
